Date night at home

Since we are all back in lockdown here in CA I wanted to create a blog post on how to create a romantic date night at home.

Creating a romantic setting at home is easy and fun! You don’t need to spend too much, but here are a few things I recommend picking up:

  • Roses, you only need a few depending on the size of your table. I used two roses to sprinkle the petals on the table and one to lay for decor.

  • Candles, I have these flameless pillar ones from pottery barn but also love to use taper candles.

  • Charger plates

  • Napkins and napkin rings

  • If you drink, a bottle of wine is always a nice addition!

When I think of a “romantic dinner” I think of steak, so I included Hyperlinks below for recipes to our favorite steak dinner.

I love having a appetizer to snack on before dinner is ready so I decide to pick up a cheese plate from Bardelli boards as an appetizer, this makes my life a bit easier and I love to support small businesses. You can always make your own cheese plate, I will do a blog post on that soon!

I picked up a bouquet of flowers, but you only need a few to decorate the table.

First, set the mood with a playlist, some of my favorites are the Big Little Lies soundtrack, Leon Bridges, and there's a few different dinner party options on Spotify. Next, assemble your candles and sprinkle rose petals on the table, I use two roses for our kitchen island.

For dinner I prepared a Wagyu filet, Lobster Risotto with truffle, and a hot honey balsamic Brussels sprouts.
