Mom's classic spaghetti
A traditional dish my mom made for me as a child and one of the last meals I cooked for her! I remember coming home to the fragrant smell of the sauce cooking all day and her giving me a little bowl of the sauce to taste test it before serving it for dinner—such a yummy and easy meal for any time of the week. You can also prepare it in the slow cooker. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Ingredients:
1lb spaghetti noodles
1 diced yellow onion
4 garlic cloves, minced
Ground beef
Italian sausage
2tbs brown sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste (about 2 tsps)
Red pepper flakes (optional) about 1 tbsp
2tsp italian seasoning
1tsp parsley
6oz tomato paste
1/2 cup chicken broth
28oz can crushed tomatos
15oz diced tomatos
Directions:
In large pot or crock pot, add 1 tbs olive oil, sauté onions over medium heat and continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened, then add minced garlic cloves.
Add beef and Italian sausage, until browned, breaking up as you stir. I love using this meat chopper.
Add Italian seasoning, parsley, sugar, salt, crushed red pepper, and black pepper.
Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and chicken broth, stir.
Bring to a boil then let simmer on low for 2-6 hours. (I left mine on low in the slow cooker for 6)
Enjoy over spaghetti noodles and top with a little Parmigiano-Reggiano!
